Role: Electrical Engineer – BESS

Location: London (Hybrid working)

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

I am working with a leading Renewable energy solutions provider, focusing in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to support renewable and energy storage, grid stability and voltage levels. With offices / sites located across the UK this role can be a hybrid position.

Job Overview:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will design, develop and implement Battery Energy Storage Systems for commercial applications. Working on major projects and frameworks for renewable energy developers, predominately in the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems for battery storage projects, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
• Perform power system analysis.
• Support grid interconnection applications.
• Evaluate and select battery technology for specific applications
• Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, IEC, and other industry standards.
• Collaborate with Mechanical and Project Engineers to enhance system design.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working with battery storage, power systems or renewable energy systems
• Proficient in power system modelling tools.
• Knowledge of battery management systems and power conversion systems.
• Experience of design & site construction review.
• Bachelors in Electrical Engineer (or equivalent qualifications)
