We’re on the lookout for a Product Safety Engineer to join a growing defence team working on mission-critical systems that protect people, infrastructure, and national interests.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary environment pushing the boundaries of innovation — from underwater acoustics to advanced communication systems.

What You’ll Do

As a Product Safety Engineer, you’ll support the full safety lifecycle — from early-stage design through to testing, operation, and disposal — across a broad portfolio of defence tech, including:

Sensor & Communication Systems

Technical Refresh Projects

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop Safety Management Plans and Safety Case Reports
  • Carry out hazard identification, risk analysis, ALARP justification and mitigation planning
  • Work closely with systems, software, mechanical and electronic engineers
  • Interface directly with internal teams and MoD stakeholders
  • Keep abreast of current safety practices across defence and engineering sectors#

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in Safety Engineering, ideally in a Commercial Defence/MoD setting
  • Proven ability to create robust technical safety documentation
  • Familiarity with ASEMS processes and Def Stan 00-056 (Desirable)
  • SSMO qualification (or similar) is desirable
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance
  • Full UK driving licence
