Critical Electrical Shift Engineer – Slough

Location: Slough

Salary: £52,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: Continental Shift Pattern

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Critical Electrical Shift Engineer to join a Brand New cutting-edge data centre in Hayes. As an essential part of our on-site team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of high-voltage electrical systems in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Package:

  • Salary: £52,000
  • Bonus: £1,500 + an additional £3,500 upon achieving HVAP status
  • Shift Pattern: Continental shift (Days & Nights)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain all HV and LV systems, ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols.
  • Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS, generators, and BMS.
  • Conduct HV switching operations as per Safe Systems of Work.
  • Respond promptly to technical issues, diagnosing faults, and implementing repairs.
  • Liaise with external contractors, ensuring high standards of safety and performance.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and logs of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an electrical engineering role, ideally within a data centre or critical environment.
  • Solid knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems, safety procedures, and fault diagnosis.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration and reporting.
  • Ability to work on a shift pattern, with flexibility for occasional emergency call-outs.
