Role Purpose and Impact
This role contributes to LSEG’s ambition to be a strategic enabler of sustainable growth.
Working in the Group Sustainability team, this role plays a critical role in discrete programmes of LSEG’s sustainability strategy, particularly relating to climate change.
You will work in partnership with key stakeholders across the Group including Operations, Technology, Procurement, Finance, and Group Risk to coordinate and drive LSEG’s climate transition plan.
With a constantly evolving climate-related landscape, this role is central to ensuring LSEG maintains a sector-leading approach on climate, consistent with LSEG’s ambition to be a sustainability leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to inform the evolution of LSEG’s climate transition plan, including climate risk mitigation, adaptation, decarbonisation levers, and climate targets.
- Coordinate and drive implementation actions set out in the Climate Transition Plan.
- Review and enhance LSEG’s scenario analysis with respect to physical climate risk and transition risk; work with relevant areas of the business to incorporate findings.
- Review and evolve LSEG’s carbon offsetting strategy and its approach to internal carbon pricing.
- Drive implementation of LSEG’s Climate Standard, ensuring requirements met by Divisions and Functions.
- Provide content for public climate-related disclosures, for example, in annual sustainability reporting and external benchmarks.
- Evolve existing nature analysis and define next steps for TNFD alignment.
Technical / Job Functional Knowledge
- Excellent and up-to-date technical knowledge of relevant best practice climate change initiatives, commitments, and affiliations (including GHG Protocol, SBTi, TCFD, CFD, ISSB, TNFD, SECR, CSRD).
- Excellent technical knowledge of existing and emerging climate-related public policy.
- Practical knowledge and application of GHG reporting and climate risk analysis.
Business and Sector Expertise
- Strong climate and environmental sustainability experience is critical.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.
- Strong stakeholder relationship skills to develop effective relationships across LSEG as required to perform the role.
- Financial sector experience is beneficial.
Leadership & Management Responsibilities / Expertise
- No direct line management responsibility.
- Work with other members of the Group Sustainability team.
- Work with external consultants and industry leaders.
- Responsible for working across business divisions and functions globally to provide guidance and advice to facilitate best-practice disclosure and reporting.
